The Institute for Ancient Near Eastern and Afroasiatic Cultural Research (IAACR) is dedicated to the interdisciplinary study of those cultures whose languages are part of the larger Afroasiatic phylum.

IAACR holds a colloquium devoted to a special topic within the broader spectrum of Afroasiatic linguistic and cultural research in conjunction with the annual meetings of the American Academy of Religion and Society of Biblical Literature.
